58 Mitchell Street, Darwin City (Corner of Mitchell & Peel Street)

Step into a unique wildlife experience at Crocosaurus Cove, home to the world's largest display of Australian reptiles and Australia's only crocodile dive experience, the Cage of Death. Located in the heart of Darwin, this three-storey attraction offers visitors the chance to discover some of Australia's most fascinating animals up close.

The Whipray Encounter provides an unforgettable opportunity to meet and interact with these friendly freshwater rays. Guided by an experienced keeper, you'll learn about their behaviour, habitat, and unique adaptations before hand-feeding a magnificent whipray measuring up to 2 metres wide.

Whiprays are remarkable creatures, recognised by their rounded disc shape, pointed snout, and slender tail. Native to tropical Australian rivers, they are active hunters that feed on small fish and shrimp. Surprisingly, whiprays can survive out of water for short periods, making them one of Australia's most unusual freshwater species.

With a maximum of four guests per session, this small-group experience offers a personal, hands-on, and educational encounter. You'll have plenty of time to touch, feed, and observe these curious animals while learning from knowledgeable wildlife staff.
